Case analysis: Using Vietnamese native IP nodes to achieve explosive speed increase on mobile terminals
1. Vietnam native IP is implemented + local DNS, which significantly reduces the first packet delay; 2. Edge caching and long TTL strategies reduce back-to-origin; 3. Protocol and transmission optimization (HTTP/2, TLS 1.3, connection reuse) work together to push mobile response to the extreme.
In this practical case, we deployed multiple Vietnam native IP nodes (Edge Nodes) for a mobile application targeting the Vietnamese market. The goal was to reduce the first response time (TTFB) and full load time (CLS/Load) of the mobile page to a considerable level. The test environment covers major mobile operators in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, using three sets of data sources: WebPageTest, Lighthouse and Real User Monitoring (RUM) for comparison.
First of all, problem location shows that the main bottleneck lies in cross-border origin return and DNS resolution: when Vietnamese users access overseas origin sites, there are obvious routing detours and packet loss, resulting in an average TTFB of more than 1.8s. We deployed native IP nodes in Vietnam and combined with localized DNS resolution (domain name resolution results are prioritized to Vietnamese nodes) to achieve nearby access. TTFB dropped directly to the 0.5–0.8s range in the A/B test.
As for the node strategy, a hybrid deployment is adopted: small traffic multi-point distribution + centralized back-to-source compression. The front end caches static resources (images, JS, CSS) through Edge Cache, and uses differentiated caching strategies for mobile resources (use long TTL for images, set short cache for dynamic interfaces and cooperate with ETag/If-Modified). In addition, HTTP/2 multiplexing and TLS 1.3 are forcibly enabled, which significantly reduces handshake and concurrency overhead, and eliminates the concurrency bottleneck of mobile first-screen requests.
In terms of specific data, statistics 30 days after deployment show: the average time to first packet (TTFB) on the mobile terminal dropped by approximately 65%; the time to fully interactable on the first screen (TTI) dropped by approximately 55%; and the overall bandwidth cost dropped by approximately 18% year-on-year under the edge caching strategy. These data come from comparing real traffic samples of the same traffic window and the same operator link before and after deployment, complying with the verifiability principle in EEAT.
Implementation points (steps that can be copied): 1) Select a compliant Vietnamese computer room and ISP to ensure that the native IP address is legally registered; 2) Configure localized DNS and GeoDNS, giving priority to Vietnamese node resolution; 3) Enable edge caching and set up hierarchical TTL and return-to-origin compression; 4) Enable HTTP/2 / TLS 1.3 Reuse with connection and keep-alive; 5) Use image WebP/AVIF, on-demand loading and pre-connection (preconnect/prefetch) on the mobile terminal.
Risk and Compliance Tips: When deploying Vietnam native IP nodes, you must comply with local laws and operator regulations, and must not be used to circumvent geographical restrictions or illegal traffic transfer. At the EEAT level, we recommend that testing methods, collection windows and tools be made public to facilitate third-party verification and enhance transparency and credibility.
Optimization tips (advanced): Using TCP/TLS level optimization for high-concurrency interfaces (such as enabling TCP Fast Open, properly adjusting the congestion control algorithm), combined with BROTLI compression and differentiated resource packaging, can often bring an additional 10% to 20% speed increase on the mobile terminal. RUM data should be observed in parallel with laboratory data to avoid regressions caused by optimization.
Conclusion: Through the combination of native IP nodes, localized DNS allocation, edge caching and transmission protocol optimization in Vietnam, an explosive improvement in mobile response can be achieved. Our case proves that reasonable node layout and technical detail adjustments can directly improve the user experience from "stuck and waiting" to "extremely fast and smooth" while ensuring compliance and security.
